Orientation Programme for entry level students Concludes at MM Modi College, Patiala
Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized three days orientation programme for the newly admitted students. The objective of this programme was to introduce the students to the academic traditions, ethos and academic culture of the college as well as to its various departments and facilities.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar inaugurated the programme and welcomed the new students in the college campus. He motivated the students to excel in their careers and to equip themselves with best learning techniques and to think critically in their chosen fields of study.
In the first session Vice principal of the college and Head of English Department Prof Shailendra Sidhu discussed with the students the policies of Anti-Ragging Cell, Women Cell and college magazine ‘The Luminary’. She said that students should maintain decorum and should not involve in any unlawful activities.
Dr. Ajit Kumar, Registrar of the college discussed with the students the academic calendar.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Head of Punjabi Department elaborated different cultural activities and competitions which the students may join for their overall development.
Prof Ved Prakash Sharma, Dean, Student Welfare also addressed the new students and said that the college is committed for utmost development of our students. He discussed the time-tables and other administrative arrangements at the college.
Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Head, Department of Business Management discussed with the students various UGC recognized Add-on and Certificate courses, Placement Cell, and Finishing School Programme available at the college. He also presented a brief report about the activities of Placement Cell of the college.
Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Department of Computer Science explained different societies, clubs and wall magazines.
Dr. Rajeev Sharma, NSS Programme Officer discussed about significance of National Social Service and Buddy programme. Dr. Ganesh Sethi told the students about scholarship schemes and General Study Circle. Dr. Nishan Singh, Dean Sports briefed about the achievements and activities of sports departments. Dr. Nidhi Rani Gupta, NCC officer, discussed about eligibility and selection criteria of NCC. Dr. Rupinder Singh told the students about Bharat Scouts and Guides Wing. Prof. Vinay Garg, Head, Department of Computer Science discussed the students about informational systems of the college and its usages.
This programme was successfully conducted with support and coordination of Prof. Neena Sareen, Dean, Commerce and Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Dean, Life Sciences.

ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਓਰੀਐਨਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ
ਸਥਾਨਿਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਦਾਖਿਲ਼ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਿੰਨ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਓਰੀਐਨਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅੱਜ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦਾਖਿਲ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਰਵਾਇਤਾਂ, ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਕਿਫ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਇਸਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਟੀਚੇ ਤੈਅ ਕਰ ਲੈਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ ਇੱਕ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਲੋਚਨਾਤਮਿਕ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜੀਵਣ-ਜਾਂਚ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ੈਲੇਦਰਾ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਂਟੀ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ, ਵੂਮੈਂਨ ਸੈੱਲ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ‘ਦਿ ਲਿਊਮਨਰੀ’ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸ਼ਨ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਗਲਤ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ-ਪੂਰਵਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮੁਖੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀਨ, ਸਟੂਡੈਂਟ ਵੈਲਫੇਅਰ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਦਾਖਿਲ਼ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਟਾਈਮ ਟੇਬਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ.ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਬਿਜਨੈਸ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਐਡ ਅੋਨ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਵੀ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ।ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਡਾ.ਹਰਮੋਹਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਲੱਬਾਂ, ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਵਾਲ-ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਡਾ.ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਐੱਨ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੇ ਐੱਨ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ ਤੇ ਬੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਡਾ.ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਵੱਖੋਂ-ਵੱਖਰੀਆਂ ਵਜ਼ੀਫਾ, ਭਲਾਈ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਟੱਡੀ ਸਰਕਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਡੀਨ, ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਡਾ.ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਤੇ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਇੱਕ ਖੇਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਐੱਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਨਿਧੀ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਮਹਤੱਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟ ਤੇ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ, ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟ ਤੇ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਤੇ ਡਾ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਇੰਨਫਰਮੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਿਸਟਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਡੀਨ, ਕਾਮਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀਨ, ਲਾਈਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
